Cartoon Illustration - Adeline

I received a really unexpected email last month. Someone requested me to do a cartoon version of her. It was something new and exciting to me (plus it was my first request :p), so I decided to give it a shot. Am really glad she loves the work :) And I want to say.. Thank you Adeline, for giving me this opportunity :)

It's been a while since I last posted. Still trying to juggle between a job, getting fit (and sexy :D), freelance work and my own personal art. I have unfinished artworks here and there but till I finish them, they shall remain hidden. :)

Anyway, one of the latest things I did: a promotional poster consisting of a compilation of the students' artworks (really beautiful works aren't they?) for the school. Do drop by if you can! :)

Colour Studies

Light and mood studies done in class. The drawings are not done by us. We analysed the way the professionals use colour and lighting and tried to apply them.

Updates on STGCC 2011

So STGCC came and went. Here are some updates of it. I think there were more booths this year but alot more focus on comics. My wish came true for more vinyls. There was a teeny wee bit more unique vinyls on sale this year. But most disappointing was that the no. of artists went down. There were fewer prints on sale and less people drawing. Somehow most decide to make their stuffs into merchandises this year instead and everyone priced up their products. Perhaps it was due to the fact that the booth costs alot more this year.

So here are the pics! Mostly on vinyls though :)

Well, I am not so much into Qee but this was really adorable! I fell in love with it and wanted to buy it but look at the price! Too bad it's way out of my budget. This is a Save-the-Earth theme. It is actually fuzzy and the bouquet of flowers is supposed to be in its arms.
Qee loves Green Bear
These are works done by Art Xchange. Really nice. The coke spoiled the pic though :(
Close-up of the creature in the little cage
I am not a stamp collector but I fell in love with these! I didn't buy it though cuz it was way over budget too.
Spiderman Comic Book Cover Stamps. Collaboration by Mavel and Singpost.
Marvel Superheroes Stamps. Collaboration by Marvel and Singpost.
This is Andrew Bell, first time appearing at STGCC. The sashimi vinyl featured in one of my previous posts is done by him. He is also the man behind the Android vinyls.
He actually drew on the blank vinyl for his fans and then autographed it. *envies*
Here's a better view of the man himself :)
The blank vinyl was out of stock when I went to buy (and it was only on the first day in the afternoon!) so I got this. Which is just as adorable! Love it!
And yesss! He autographed it for me! My Vinyl Toy Collection feels a tad special now!
Play Imaginative (PI) did a collaboration with Disney and released the Mickey Mouse Vinyls. I am not a huge fan of Mickey Mouse but these vinyls are really pretty! Many talented artists around the world customised their own version of mickeys and the final product was put on display there. Too bad they were not for sale!
Customised Mickeys by various artists.
I think this customised version is really cool.
This one is my favourite! Looks so adorable and so very edible! Yum!
The lady at the booth told me the ones that cost $12 were the newer series. Isn't the one with the crown cute?!
I bought these for my cousin. The grey one is the newer series and the other is from the older series. I only realised that they were the same unicorn after taking this picture.....
I also bought 3 prints from Imaginary Friends Studio (IFS). Luckily I bought them early enough cuz those 3 were one of those few which were quickly sold out. Well, a few of my friends are planning to set up booths for the next STGCC so maybe next year's artist alley will be really fun and exciting. ;)

Blog Header Design

I did a header design for my blog last month. The girl playing the flute is me. Yes, I know how to play the flute :) and why forest and why this theme? Well that's cuz forest and music is in my name and I do love the idea of being in my own world once in a while.

Earlier Look. Jul 2011.
Edited Look with more colours and looking more cheery. Aug 2011.

One More Day to STGCC!

Haven't been updating my blog lately cuz well.. I'm busy looking and applying for jobs and going for interviews. Of course I am still creating new stuffs but I have less time to work on them.

So, STGCC is this weekend! I saw a photo of Hot Toys Booth Set-up posted on their facebook and I got hyped up. STGCC this year looks promising so I guess I'll be there tomorrow when the doors open at 10am. :)

These are the 2 things I'm definitely checking out!
Blood Bunny Limited Vinyl by 2Spot Studio
STGCC Exclusive O-No Sashimi by Andrew Bell
Aren't they awesome??! So hyped up that Andrew Bell is coming. He's the one who created the Android Vinyls :) Will post up pics of the event if I do remember to take them!

Menu Designs for Ogerik Design

Did a couple of  menus (product samples) for Ogerik Design. The company names and contents/prices on the menus are fake of course. The boss was nice enough to allow me to post up on my blog. The menus are already printed out but I don't have photographs of them so here's the digital version:
